Ghost Retro Arcade is a mobile arcade event company based in Nottinghamshire.
They host retro gaming events across the UK at museums, social events, conferences and conventions using original video game cabinets from the 1970s and 1980s.
We were tasked with developing a brand identity that would work across varied marketing channels, including print, signage and digital marketing. Ghost Retro Arcade wanted to use a retro-style character as an icon with text combined into a brand identity suitable for profile and avatar images, especially across social media channels where they perform much of their business.





We tailored our simple design process to factor in some early identity sketches supplied by Martin Walvin, Owner of Ghost Retro Arcade. Our development process provided Martin with three interpretations of his initial direction, ranging from contemporary to traditional styles.
The result was a very flexible brand identity, designed for use across varied marketing channels with many print, digital and signage options. Using only two colours and relying heavily on contrast, our logo references – retro pixelated themes, characters and typography whilst still retaining simplistic integrity, essential for brand recognition across mixed marketing channels.
